With the green festivities of St. Patrick's Day behind us, we witnessed a unique change in the winds of celebration. This year people embraced an even greener path - one that didn’t involve raising a pint, but instead, partaking in the uplifting embrace of cannabis.

With the green festivities of St. Patrick's Day behind us, we witnessed a unique change in the winds of celebration. This year people embraced an even greener path - one that didn’t involve raising a pint, but instead, partaking in the uplifting embrace of cannabis. 

According to Fyllo data, St. Patrick’s Day was a big win for cannabis this year: 

  • Dispensaries boasted a 17% growth in year-over-year same-store sales, accompanied by a 20.8% upswing in in-store visits and an average basket size of $95.27.
  • Pre-rolls continue dominating the sales charts, with Gear making a leap to secure the second spot, leaving Vapes trailing at third place compared to last year's rankings. Edibles and Extract ranked in 4th and 5th place, respectively.  
  • More than 60% of all dispensary locations cannabis-infused beverages this year (13% more than last year), which led to an astounding 95% sales growth year-on-year, showcasing the future trend in this innovative category.
  • 25-44 year olds made up 54% of all cannabis sales, the 21-24 age group delivered an impressive 35% boost in spending. As trendsetters for the sober curious movement, it's no shock that Gen Z is at the forefront of this remarkable growth.
  • While men constituted 66% of sales, 21% more women sought out cannabis this year compared to last. 

From coast to coast, St. Patrick’s Day celebrations were filled with spirit - and in many cases cannabis.  It's a sign of how far our country has come when it comes to embracing new, progressive traditions.
